Cats!
I love cats, and this seems to be the week for them. I'm on cat-sitting duty, looking after the very lovely, but mostly very sleepy Frehley and then as I came home tonight, befriended a sweet little black and white cat who then tried to barge past me and into my flat!

Assilah Bistro, A little Moroccan holiday in Bristol
Last night we decided to venture over to Totterdown and try out Assilah Bistro for some tasty Moroccan fare. Chris had certainly done his research, and this unassuming find appears at the no.1 spot on Trip Advisor, making it the favourite restaurant (based on customer reviews) in Bristol. We went with high expectations and arrived with last night's balmy feel only adding to the authentic nature of the outing. From the outside Assilah's has the most lovely, welcoming feel. The rustic, wooden exterior, outside seating, lanterns and fairy lights warmly invite your inside where you find a highly decorative interior, which brings to life vivid thoughts of Arabian Nights, cosy riads and the intimacy of an eclectic souk.
We ate stuffed vine leaves and falafels to start, followed by a whole Poussin cooked with almonds and apricots for Chris and and Aubergine and Courgette bake for me. All the food was absolutely delicious, subtly spiced with fragrant undertones of coriander .
We finished the night, sat outside with a mixed fruit shisha and some sweet mint tea, the perfect end to the perfect evening. I must also mention the fabulous owner who takes a genuine interest in her customers and even offered Chris to come back and borrow a book she was currently reading. Just amazing! We arrived home, well fed, with smiles on our faces, it almost felt like we had been away on holiday for the evening. I could not recommend this place enough, everyone should go there.

A day in Bath
I needed to take Rodney (my lovely little Nissan Micra) for his MOT on Saturday morning in the village where my parents live, so I took the opportunity to have a catch up with some friends in Bath and do a spot of shopping too. I met Georgia in Queen's square where we sipped on Frappucinno's and had a nice chin-wag. I took a snap of her lovely patent sandals. Then I me up with Felicity for more chats and a look around the shops where I managed to get some great Gap basics and a denim shirt (something I've been after for ages) and the coolest bikini top ever!

Drinks at the Lido
With all these balmy evenings finally upon us, outside seating was top priority when I met up with my friend Vicky on Tuesday. We decided to head to the Lido in Clifton, which was absolutely amazing! On the evening of the Olympic Torch madness, we found a real hide-away far from the crowds in a peaceful tranquil setting. The evening was then topped off with some lovely chats and two glasses of really delicious prosecco!

Badger's Hill Farm
Mum and I went to visit my sister in Kent this weekend, we took a trip to Badger's Hill farm with my little niece Coralie. It was such an amazing place, an old Cider farm, it had been lovingly renovated into a shop and cafe with quirky finds hidden around every corner. The fabulous thing about this place is that you can't find it in any guide books as the owner doesnt want to make it a tourist destination rammed full of people (I think that's a lovely touch). Outside there are hundreds of garden ornaments and vintage style metal furniture, inside was a shop abolutely crammed with delicious goodies. The highlight was the huge Ploughmans lunch we devoured in the vine-lined greenhouse.

Salad Days
I love a nice salad and can't wait for those proper sunny evenings to be back for good when this is all I want to be eating. This Cambembert Salad with cranberry drizzle is just the beginning!

A Lovely Lippy
I've been hearing a lot about the new Revlon Lip Butters, so i thought I would give them a try. I initially bought the Macaroon colour which is a lovely nude shade, then I thought I should try one of the brighter shades so also got some Tutti Frutti! This is a vivid, coraly red shade on the actual lipstick but once on it just gives a subtle hint of the shade. These lipsticks are really lovely to wear, they almost feel like a cross between a lip balm and a lipstick, leaving a slightly greasy (but pleasant) feel on your lips.

A Few Things
It's been a while since my last blog. Maybe it was the dreary April showers, my birthday or busy, busy work which have either left me lacking in inspiration or lacking time. So, looking back over the last month, I have been fashioning various different necklaces in different ways...
Making cakes which look like Hamburgers (and winning a baking competition at work in the process!)...
Eaten some yummy things...
