A Sunny Autumn's Day In Bristol

Our first day out and about in Bristol after Turkey and the sun was shining, the leaves were falling and there was a comforting scent of wood smoke in the air. We strolled up to Brandon Hill Park, where the Cabot Tower keeps a watchful eye over Bristol; snugly nestled in beautiful gardens, lily-pad rich ponds with rolling hills and winding paths leading down towards the hustle and bustle of the city centre. On the way home, we stopped by at the Grain Barge for a sneaky drink and watched as the magnificent Matthew sailed right past us, proudly displaying it's many colours and voluptuous timber built, curvy frame. We also spotted mushrooms on the way home, standing upright, reaching out of the lush green grass of Greville Smyth Park.

Beautiful Kalkan

I have just returned from a magical week in Kalkan, Turkey. Although we did have a few rainy moments/storms we enjoyed fabulous weather, delicious food (in particular meze) and some beautiful scenery and beaches. To top it off, we stayed in the stunning Fidanka Hotel, a quirky place hugged by a cascading array of highly scented flowers, rich in purples and pinks. Our room was more like a suite, with a living, room, bedroom, en-suite and dressing room and a sweet little terrace with a comfy double hammock from which we could lie back and watch the sunset.
