Can't beat it, wind down coffee, olives and chit chat to end a bank holiday weekend.

Graffiti On A Sunday
After a delightful sun-filled wedding on Saturday, we decided to hit the streets of Bedminster on Sunday and check out the goings on at Upfest. This annual graffiti event is really starting to draw in the crowds and brings North Street alive with the sound of hip hop beats, smell of barbecuing grills and an enthusiastic, jolly crowd of on-looking appreciators.

The Great Gatsby
Last night, my friend Georgia and I followed a few yummy plates of Sushi with a trip to the cinema to see the much hyped, glitzy, blinged up, Great Gatsby. Initially it did take a bit of time to adjust to Jay-Z's pumping beats set against the glittering 20's backdrop but as soon as I did, I actually surprised myself by quite enjoying the movie, being swept up in the hip-hop-jazz vibes. The beginning and end had the addition of being set in a sanatorium with the narrating character Nick as a recovering alcoholic, but with a few frivolous scene boosters, the story was pretty spot on and as long as you can see past the fruity tan of Leonardo Di Caprio, the actors seemed to be pretty well cast. I liked the fact that the original book cover illustration by Francis Cugat, which Fitzgerald had written into the book as he loved it so much, made an appearance on several occasions.

Eat Drink Bristol Fashion
Last night I was lucky enough to have an absolutely delicious meal c/o Casamia at Eat Drink Bristol Fashion. Queens Square in Bristol has been home to some tepee style tents for the last week or so and hosting special guest chef/restaurant nights where you get to try some of the best food in the South West. My five course (pescatarian) meal consisted of...
London
I had a fantastic weekend catching up with my fab friends Louise and Shona in London this weekend. I went to see the Lichtenstein exhibition at the Tate Modern, saw Craig Charles at his funk and Soul night at the Jamm in Brixton and had the most delicious coffee and halloumi wrap in French & Grace in Brixton Village on the Sunday. Just fabulous.

Finders Keepers
With birthday money in hand, off I trundled into town to track down a cute dress for a wedding later this month. I had signed up to the Harvey Nichols newsletter under the promise that I would get a 20% discount on fashion and accessories and so that was my first port of call!
I quickly found this adorable dress slinkilly wrapped around a mannequin and to my delight really loved the look of it when I tried it on. The brand is called Finders Keepers. I simply cannot wait to wear it in a couple of weeks time!

Afternoon Tea In The West Country
I was treated to a lovely birthday treat by my friend Vicky last weekend, a surprise Afternoon Tea at The Manor House Hotel in the stunning village of Castle Combe in Wiltshire. It really is a beautiful place, approached by a long sweeping drive with a thickly wooded hill to the left and a quaint, bath stone country house to the right overlooking perfectly manicured lawns. We went inside, where we were shown to our table in a wooden panelled room with soft lighting and very comfortable chairs.
The afternoon tea itself was utterly delicious with probably the best selection of cakes I have ever seen for an afternoon tea. Delicious, dainty sandwiches of cucumber and soft cheese, smoked salmon and egg mayonaise with a grand finale of scones, Bath Buns, clotted cream and home made jam. What an absolute treat!

Eau Thermale Avene
I am a little undecided abut this one. Eau Thermale Avene is (special) spring water in a spray can. As a dry, sensitive skinned person, I hoped this would be nice and soothing and do wonders for my skin. At the price I don't think it is the miracle it almost claims to be but it is jolly cooling on a hot day.

Baubles
So this is the first of my birthday purchases, a bold statement necklace from Zara. It is a weighty number but I love the fact that it is so huge.
